IJKA SA in terms of its mandate promotes and develops IJKA karate in South Africa and Africa. In doing so, IJKA SA requires much needed funding to assist certain students who, whilst making the national team on merit, are not necessarily in a position to fund themselves to be able to represent their country at a world championships abroad. The Association also requires funding to support its Development Dojos where underprivileged kids receive free tuition.

Karate in South Africa and Africa, although fully integrated as a sport among people of all demographics, are unfortunately not classified as a top tier spectator sport when it comes to television rights etc. However, this does not mean that students do not put in any less effort to achieve a world level standard in their chosen sport. IJKA SA’s development fund, through the sponsorship of corporates and donations from individuals and through its own fundraising initiatives, intend to ease the financial burden on underprivileged students. With even the smallest gesture from a corporate or individual sponsoring IJKA SA, a big difference is made in a student’s life.

With a following across various media platforms of close on 10,000 people, IJKA SA presents a unique direct opportunity for businesses to build their brand across Africa, and particularly South Africa. Sponsorship opportunities are many, both “big” and “small”.
